Andy Watson:
…
One could think Andy’s inspiration to become a photographer could have resulted from living in some of the most pristine places our nation has to offer. He spent many years living in both Yosemite National Park and Grand Teton National Park. As a young boy, he spent time in the elements with a family friend photographing what nature has to offer, and perhaps the seed was planted. And it was 1990 when Andy was given a camera for his high school graduation gift. Since then photography has seemed to become a way of life. After graduating, Andy went on to Casper College in Casper, WY. He was assigned a job at the college working in the photography department. It was here, that he was taught the craft and eventually developed a vision. That vision became apparent during his college years, when he tried his hand at riding bareback horses and bulls. He soon found that he could make a better living behind the camera rather than in front of it.

Unlike the ‚ “newborn‚” photographers of today, Andy seems to be a throwback to the past. In the beginning, he honed his skills in the darkroom, by developing his own negatives and printing his own photos. He started out printing black and white, moving to color, and finally making the leap to digital in 2002.
…
He became a professional photographer in 1991 specializing in fast action photography‚ rodeo seemed to be a great fit given his background. He spent many years on the rodeo trail before landing a gig with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) in 1994. Since then, he has enjoyed watching the PBR grow, but most of all takes pleasure in capturing the history as it unfolds.

Andy and his wife reside in Three Forks, MT where they can mostly be found fly fishing on the many blue ribbon trout streams the area has to offer. When the rivers are said to be ‚ blown out‚ in the spring, the saltwater itch comes along and they head to the Keys to fly fish for Tarpon. He also loves to bow hunt and be a part of the outdoors whenever time allows.
